Beef Round UpSince moving cattle from one pasture to another is a major undertaking on a 70,000 acre allotment we have decided to offer two new trips. When we do a major pasture move it’s never a problem to find 80% of the cattle, but that other 20% is a real bugger! We have had some years where it has taken us 6 weeks of gathering to get a pasture clean. We decided that by opening up this trip, and with your help, we can gather and move the herd to another pasture and maybe get 98% of the cattle, in a 5 day week. With all of the scattered timber, high alpine meadows, rocks, canyons and rough country, it’s not as easy as it sounds. There is nothing nose to tail about this trip. With 600 head of cattle we can promise you lots of time in the saddle. This is all based out of our 9000 foot cow camp right at timberline. Since we don’t have to have daylight mornings due to the coolness of the mountains, this actually makes for a better trip, because you will be a little more rested. There is an abundance of wildlife, wildflowers, wild cowboys, wild cows and plenty of fresh air to make this one of the most fulfilling weeks of your life. The ranges in elevation for these trips will be between 6200 feet and 9300 feet.
